Teacher Gift Ideas

This is my first year having to think about gifts for teachers and I'd love to get some input from all you seasoned mothers. Plus, I know some of you are or have been teachers too so I think it would be neat to hear what some of your favorite gifts are to receive. Any bright ideas???

When I was a teacher--fav. gifts were GIFT CARDS--hands down. Even if it is only a $10 card to Target that was better then getting a lot of crap that got thrown away...and ppl wasted their money on me and I felt bad about that.

Ornaments are also great for Christmas. i still have all the ornaments I was given by students and each year I put them up I remember that child:) So a gift card with an ornament would be the BEST! IMO:)

All of use teachers would compare our Loot at the end of the day and the person who got even one gift card was always envied!

A special card/note also really giving heartfelt thanks is also always kept and LOVED:)

My friend who is a teacher agrees with the gift card idea...I have done it for years...My teacher SIL hated any decorations with apples on it.

Gift cards that I know are loved:
Barnes and Noble
Office Max
Starbucks
Target
Utah Idaho Supply (not around here, but if there is a teacher supply store, it is the same)
Restaurants, movies, and anything they can use to buy stuff for themselves or for the class...

Good luck! :o)

NOt soap, bubble bath, lotion, or candles because they get TONS of that stuff. When I did my student teaching I think every kid gave me lotion or a candle.

Ditto Shahna---I am HIGHLY sensitive to smells. I can't wear any scents at all not even scented lotion. I can get a migraine in 2 minutes from smelling the wrong scent. So all that stuff got thrown away when I got it:(

I have to add in you don't HAVE to get a gift. WE NEVER judged anyone who didn't get us a gift. Truth is I worked at a very poor school (title 1) So we got very little. We were happy with a note of appreciation like I mentioned above.

Studio Movie Grill gift cards are always fun to give people. You can get them for any dollar amount you like, and they can be used for movie tickets and/or food.
